New Equipment Sales Rep – Baytown

 

A New Equipment Sales Representative for forklifts is an outside sales professional responsible for growing market share by selling new material handling solutions (e.g., lithium-powered trucks, warehouse automation) to industrial clients. This role requires a blend of cold calling, technical product knowledge, and strategic territory management.

 

Key Responsibilities

Business Development: Actively prospect for new clients through cold calling, site visits, and networking within an assigned territory.

Consultative Selling: Conduct on-site facility surveys to assess customer needs and recommend specific forklift models, attachments, or leasing options.

Quoting & Closing: Prepare detailed proposals, negotiate pricing, and manage the sales process from lead to final delivery.

Relationship Management: Maintain and grow a CRM database with accurate customer profiles and sales activities.

Collaboration: Coordinate with service, parts, and logistics departments to ensure seamless equipment delivery and customer satisfaction.

 

Qualifications & Skills

Prior Experience: Proven track record in B2B industrial or capital equipment sales.

Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with major brands (e.g., Toyota, Crown, Hyster-Yale) and new technologies like lithium-ion batteries or automated systems.

Communication: Exceptional negotiation and presentation skills to interface with warehouse managers and C-suite executives.

Mobility: A valid driver's license and clean driving record are mandatory for territory travel.

Physical Ability: Occasional ability to operate forklifts for demonstrations (often requiring certification).
