Job Description

Overview:

Stellar is seeking an Industrial Refrigeration Engineer to be responsible for all aspects of assigned design projects, including schedule, financial, and quality. As a Senior Engineer, you will be making high level technical decisions, setting and guiding the direction of the overall project, and delegating detailed design tasks to others. Working under the direction of the Director of Engineering, the Industrial Refrigeration Engineer will be focused on our Industrial Refrigeration division which includes projects nationwide.

Responsibilities:

• Has ultimate accountability for project level technical decisions
• Make required site visits as needed
• Develop the initial outline scope of work, block flow drawings, preliminary equipment selections, and technical reports
• Maintain quality and standards through staying current with relevant code changes and maintaining Stellar engineering standards
• Responsible for delegating and reviewing equipment schedules, control group design, final line sizing, and mass & energy balance
• Responsible for ensuring completion of engineering tasks, accuracy of drawing package/model, and maintaining assigned work schedule
• Responsible for maintaining WBS updates for engineering items
• Maintain stage gating of engineering related items until WBS sign-off is complete
• Responsible for all technical aspects of submittals
• Delegate the creation, issuing, and printing of drawings, redline mark ups, and P&ID's
• Participate in organizations such as IIAR, ARF, etc.
• Give presentations at internal or external events

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of industrial refrigeration engineering experience
• PE license in good standing preferred
• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field
• Design experience with NH3, Glycol, Freon, CO2

• Good written and communication skills

• Ability to work well within a collaborative, team atmosphere
