Who We Are Looking For We are looking for a
QA Tester (contract) to help us build and ship interactive andgame experiences here at Forward. You'll be part of a small and highly collaborative team that solves tough technical challenges in an energetic, startup-like environment. In this role, you will work closely with our talented Metaverse teams including Production, Engineering, Art, and Design.
What The Duration Is This is a 3-month contract position.
What You'll Be Doing - Detect, research and report issues in VR projects through various testing disciplines.
- Executing test plans on pre-release versions of software
- Creating and updating test and setup documentation
- Create regular reports summarizing the QA status of projects
- Assess product functionality against design and quality standards
- Log issues for the development team to review in clear, concise tickets
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure quality and accuracy in the overall game play experience and its functionality
- Utilize experience exploring open worlds to provide feedback that will help improve the title for fans and participants of such game play experiences
What We Like To See - At least 1 year in a testing role using gaming QA methodologies
- Experience testing in VR and console games
- Familiarity testing on modern VR headsets (i.e Meta Quest, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive etc.)
- A strong analytical and problem-solving mindset for troubleshooting problems and finding quick solutions
- Technical oriented with experience in debugging applications
- A very fine attention to detail with a technical mindset
- Demonstrated ability to enhance the user experience
- An understanding of user behavior and needs
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment where priorities can quickly shift or change
- An innate curiosity that oftentimes leads you down a different path
- A strong sense of project ownership
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in both an individual and team environment
- A passion, energy, and excitement to the team and organization
BONUS Points - Previous experience testing VR or MR apps in the gaming industry
- A good understanding of ADB commands
- Experience using Jira
- An understanding of shell scripting languages such as bash
